Terms of service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of bigbearelectric.ca (the “Site”), operated by Big Bear Electric Inc., a British Columbia corporation (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Site you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Effective date: August 21, 2026

1. Use of the site

The Site is provided for information about our services, our service area and our completed work. You may use it for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

  • Use the Site in any way that could disable, overburden, damage or impair it.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site or any system connected to it.
  • Use automated means to access, scrape or collect data from the Site without our written permission.
  • Submit false information through the estimate request form, or use it to send unsolicited material.

2. Intellectual property

All content on the Site, including text, photographs of our work, graphics, logos and the overall look and feel, is the property of Big Bear Electric Inc. or its licensors, and is protected by Canadian and international intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from or republish any of it without our prior written permission.

The project photographs on this Site are of work we carried out ourselves. They may not be used by anyone else to represent their own work.

3. Estimate requests

Submitting the estimate request form does not create a contract or oblige either of us to anything. By submitting it you acknowledge that:

  • A submission is a request for a quote. It is not a booking and it does not reserve a date.
  • We are under no obligation to respond to every request or to take on every job.
  • Any figure given before we have seen the work is an indication only. A binding price comes from a written quote.
  • Information you submit is handled in accordance with our Privacy policy.

4. No professional advice

Nothing on this Site is electrical advice for your property. Service descriptions, blog posts and project write-ups are general information and cannot account for the condition of your wiring, the capacity of your service, or the requirements that apply where you live.

Electrical work is dangerous, and in British Columbia most of it requires a permit and a licensed contractor. Do not rely on anything on this Site to carry out work yourself. If you believe something in your home or building is unsafe, stop using it and have a licensed electrician look at it.

5. Work is contracted separately

Any work we carry out for you is governed by the written quote, the invoice and any separate agreement we sign, not by these Terms. Scope, price, payment terms, permits, scheduling and warranty are set out in those documents. Where they and these Terms differ, those documents govern the work and these Terms govern your use of the Site.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

This section applies to the Site only. It does not limit or affect any warranty given on work we carry out.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BIG BEAR ELECTRIC INC., ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under the laws of British Columbia.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising under or related to these Terms is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia.

10. Changes to these terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when they are posted to the Site with an updated effective date. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

11. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy policy and Cookie policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the Site, and supersede any prior understanding relating to it.
