Why your new pot lights look uneven

The lights went in level and evenly spaced and the ceiling still reads patchy. Spacing is rarely the culprit. Three things usually are, and all are fixable.

A ceiling of new pot lights that reads blotchy once the furniture is back is one of the most common calls we get after somebody else's lighting job.

The short version

Mixed colour temperatures, mixed beam angles, and a layout drawn to the ceiling instead of to the room. All three are fixable, and usually without cutting a single new hole.
